Before our many Denver Bronco’s “My Cyndi’s Secrets – Shhhh!” members get all upset by my congratulatory note to Seattle; I remind you that I am actually a Detroit Lions football fan. We all know how that turned out this past year – the season was so bad that the coach got fired! So, I also must congratulate the Bronco’s for even making it to the prestigious bowl. However, no one can argue that Seattle shined during last Sunday’s Super Bowl game and that was under the excellent leadership of Coach Pete Carroll!
A little over a year ago I had the opportunity to meet and interview Pete. In fact, many of you may remember that I attended and covered his NIKE WINFOREVER workshop. This was a clinic aimed at discussing the integral elements of coaching and mentoring. The press release called it “The NEW Generation of Coaches for the Next Generation of Athletes” using Pete Carroll’s WINFOREVER philosophy.
Below is a shot of Pete and me sharing “My Cyndi’s Secrets – Shhhh!” at this event.. 🙂
I was thrilled to meet Pete Carroll especially since he offered to give me his winning scoop. He is NFL head coach and executive vice president of the Seattle Seahawks, founder and inspiration behind WINFOREVER and former head coach of The New York Jets, New England Patriots, and the USC Trojans. He is one of three football coaches who have won both a College Football National Championship and now a Super Bowl.
