Hollywood’s biggest night is the Academy Awards! The town comes alive in a way that is beyond compare. Everyone clamors to get a piece of the gold – if only for a moment. There certainly is no shortage of parties, but only a handful of these events warrant “hot ticket” status. Once again I was delighted to be invited to the exclusive Norby Walters Annual NIGHT OF 100 STARS AWARDS GALA celebrating the 86^th Annual Academy Awards! Security was tight but your little Cyndi Sleuth was there and I’ve got the scoop! 🙂 Psssssst! Come with me!

 The event occurred at the posh Beverly Hills Hotel – home of the famous Polo Lounge where major deals have been made among agents, producers and other entertainment types for decades. My team and I got to the hotel plenty early. However, once the festivities began the carpet was swarming with an endless list of celebrities and paparazzi.  Let the fun begin! Shhhh!

A highlight of the evening was meeting actor Jon Voight. He has been nominated four times for an Academy Award and won Best Actor for his portrayal of a paraplegic Vietnam Vet in “Coming Home”. He also has won four out of ten Golden Globe Nominations. Wow what an amazing talent.  Jon is also the father of actress Angelina Jolie.  He and I are pictured.

Jon Voight and I had a fabulous discussion.  He shared with “My Cyndi’s Secrets – Shhhh!” something that he really likes to do but is not very good at when he does it. Click the video link that follows for the whole interview!  🙂

It was really nice chatting with the renowned James Cromwell and his lovely wife Anna Cromwell. His credits include LA Confidential, The Green Mile, The Artist etc. James was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for the movie Babe. He has also been nominated for four Emmy Awards and four Screen Actors Guild Awards.

In the interview below James and I discuss how after having traveled the world he is proficient at gorilla- speak. However, he was not impressed with my attempts at the animal lingo. Lol! Click the video link:

Norby Walters, veteran music agent, repeated his role as Producer and Dinner Chairman. Joining him as Executive Producer of the event was Billionaire clothing designer/manufacturer Peter Nygard, Peter is the founder and Chairman of Nygard International. He and I as seen in the photo shared “My Cyndi’s Secrets – Shhhh!™”   on the red carpet.

Nygård International is a Canadian based corporation. As one of the largest women’s clothing manufacturers and suppliers in the world, Nygard employs 12,000 people worldwide and supplies its clothing lines to more than 200 retail stores in North America. Annual sales are over $500 million.  Peter’s newest design is a line of pants called Slims which as the name says helps a woman look slimmer. These revolutionary pants are supposed to lift, shape, and squeeze a woman in all the right places. Here I pose with a bevy of beauties wearing Slims. I can’t wait to try a pair myself. They look really cute. After I try them I’ll be sure to give you the scoop! Shhhh! 🙂

I was thrilled to meet Garry Marshall. He is a legendary actor, director, writer, and producer.

 This man has created The Odd Couple, Pretty Woman, Frankie and Johnny, Beaches, Happy Days, Nothing in Common, Runaway Bride, Georgia, Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Eve to name just a few. I found him to be very kind to me and gosh darn funny!!!! You must watch my interview with this amazing talent.  Considering that this is a year where a movie about space (Gravity) pulled in 7 Academy Awards, it’s not surprising that an interview with a real life astronaut would be fascinating. Needless to say I loved my chat with Buzz Aldrin. He is an American astronaut and the 2^nd man to walk on the moon. I also got to meet Bruce Boxleitner who plays the husband of Barbara Niven’s character in the hit Hallmark Channel TV show, Cedar Cove. He and I dished about pranks on the set and about the upcoming season which starts in July. I can’t wait! Click the video to get the latest:

No matter how much red carpet experience I may have, it is always fun to interview a new celeb.  On this special night I chatted up a robot.  Yep – that’s right! It turns out that an LG Robot made her red carpet debut at this particular Oscar’s party. Paparazzi were dazzled by her twirls and swirls and news of her fabulous job in Las Vegas.  By the looks of her LG Robot batting eyes and flashy grand entrance I assumed she got a job as a show girl. However, I was wrong. Turns out Ms. LG Robot will be helping people who may be lost or need other info.  Perhaps this is a good thing because when she retires she won’t have to deal with finding work as an aging dancer. Her qualifications might make it easier to get a job as a greeter at Target. LOL!

Wow it truly was a fabulous event! The positive energy was contagious. I feel blessed to meet and work with so many wonderful celebs and everyday but “unique” people – similar souls that help me share the “My Cyndi’s Secrets – Shhhh!™”  mission of JOY worldwide.
